Minios 3.3.4 Launches, Adds Russian Support for USB Drives

Available is the latest issue of minios 3.3.4, a light modular Live Linux designed for use on removable USB drives. The project, founded in 2009, was initially based on Mandriva Linux but switched to using the DEBIAN package base after Mandriva’s dissolution. A unique feature of the distribution is the ability to add or remove modules to create a customized Live system tailored to individual needs. User shells supported include Fluxbox, LXQT, and XFCE. Various ISO image download options are available, with the distribution requiring 350-1660 MB of disk space depending on the selected assembly.

Key changes and improvements in minios 3.3.4 include:

  • The assembly is based on the 3.3.x branch, allowing for distribution assembly due to repository structure changes.
  • Installer version is synchronized with Minios 4 branch, adding support for MMC devices and Exfat.
  • Fixes in loading scripts addressing packet update issues in Minios Puzzle.
  • Updated Linux kernel to version 6.1.90.
  • Replacement of Elementary-XFCE-Minios icon-minios theme with Elementary-Minios, updated to version 0.19.
  • Use of ZSTD to compress modules for improved system operation speed in all editions.
  • Inclusion of all Debian updates at the time of distribution release.
