Loandepot, a major American mortgage creditor, fell victim to a cyberattack last January, as reported in the company’s financial statement. The incident led to expenses amounting to nearly $27 million.
The attack, carried out by the Mount Program, resulted in data encryption and the disabling of some systems at Loandepot at the beginning of 2024. It was later revealed that the cyberattack exposed personal information of approximately 16.9 million individuals.
