The Center for the Development of Innovation Technologies “IT Planet”, in collaboration with the developers of the Linux-Distribution Openscaler and the platform company Gitverse.ru, has announced the launch of the “Open Source Education Cup 2024“. This competition aims to encourage the development of educational courses and materials focused on the basic principles and tools for creating Open Source projects, particularly in the realm of open source operating systems. The total award fund for the competition is 900,000 rubles.
Registration and submission of entries are open until August 15, 2024, with participation welcome from teachers and professionals in higher education, secondary vocational education, and additional vocational education. Both individual participants and teams collaborating on projects are encouraged to take part in the competition.
The jury panel for the competition includes renowned industry experts such as:
- Vladimir Rubanov, Member of the Board of IT Associations of Apkit and Russoft;
- Egor Bugaenko, Director of the Laboratory of Creation of Instruments for PRO development, founder of Zerocracy, and author of Elegant Objects;
- Sergey Shalashny, founder of ANO Center for the Development of Innovative Technologies “IT Planet”;
- Alexander Belotserkovsky, Director of Technological Evangelism at Gitverse;
- Andrey Bazhenov, Director of System Poe at SberTech;
- Dmitry Varenov, Technical leader of the Openscaler community.
