Minzifra reported that from July 24 to August 6, 2024, employees aged 18 to 30 accredited in the IT department of companies will have the opportunity to apply for a deferral from military service as part of the autumn call of 2024 through “public services”.
The application process is simplified for employees, as they only need to fill out the necessary information in their personal account on public services. Once completed, the employer will verify the information and, if correct, confirm it. It is important to note that even if the employee does not submit an application themselves, the organization has the authority to include them in the deferral list.
The timeline for the process is clearly outlined. By August 11, companies must verify and confirm employee data and submit lists to the Ministry of Construction via public services. Organizations can submit multiple lists as they are compiled. The Ministry of Construction will then transmit all collected information to the Ministry of Defense by August 31. Decisions regarding deferrals will be made by the draft commission from October 1 to December 31.
To be eligible for a deferral, employees must meet the following criteria:
- Russian citizenship and male gender.
- Age between 18 and 30 years.
- Labor contract with a standard working day duration.
- Higher education in one of the specialties listed in the approved document.
- Duration of employment from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024, meeting specific requirements:
- At least 11 months in the current accredited company, with accreditation issued by August 11, 2024.
- At least 11 months in the current accredited company and other accredited companies, with valid accreditation during the periods of employment.
- If employed in an accredited IT company for less than 11 months within 1 year from university graduation or from employment in a scientific organization.
