NomadBSD presented its latest issue of Live-Distribution, nomadbsd 14.1r-20240711, designed to be used as a portable desktop environment loaded from a USB drive. The graphical interface is built on XFCE, providing a user-friendly experience. To mount various types of drives, the distribution utilizes dsbmd, which supports ISO-9660, NTFS, UFS, Ext2/3, HFS+, Exfat, XFS, and BTRFS file systems. The loading image size is 2.5GB, available for both i386 and AMD64 architectures.
In this update, NomadBSD has upgraded its base environment to FreeBSD 14.1. The FUSEFS module has been modified to enhance stability and reduce errors when utilizing Unionfs. Additionally, graphic utilities specific to NomadBSD have been migrated from QT5 to QT6, ensuring improved performance and compatibility.
