Copilot Transforms Karakuli to Clear Text in OneNote

Microsoft has introduced a new feature called Copilot in OneNote that enables users to recognize and analyze handwritten notes. The feature is currently in the beta testing phase and allows users to create handwritten notes in OneNote using a stylus. These notes can then be summarized, queried, or converted into lists of tasks.

Utilizing artificial intelligence technologies, Copilot can convert handwritten notes into text for easy editing and sharing. This feature will soon be available to Copilot Camp for Microsoft 365 and users of Copilot Pro after a broader update. It streamlines the process of converting manuscript notes into easily readable text, simplifying the organization of notes and task lists.

Initial tests have shown that Copilot effectively recognizes handwritten notes, regardless of their size. The technology can rephrase entire paragraphs of handwritten text while preserving the original content, making the text more legible. This is particularly significant as generative AI models often struggle with accuracy.

OneNote users who create handwritten task lists will find Copilot especially valuable. It can swiftly and accurately convert these lists into textual formats, enhancing their usability. To test the recognition of manuscript notes using Copilot, individuals must be part of the Microsoft 365 Insider program, use the latest version of OneNote for Windows (build 17628.20006 or newer), and have a subscription to Copilot Pro or Copilot for Microsoft 365.

This innovation is expected to appeal to OneNote users seeking to simplify their workflow with handwritten notes and enhance data organization.
