The idea of the loss of a cryptocurrency wallet filled with bitcoins, etherium, or other valuable coins can be a nightmare for investors. However, Vivokey and Dangerous Things offer a new solution to always have your coins with you – a cryptocurrency wallet APEX that can be implanted into the human body. The device is controlled through a special mobile application, and all transactions are processed directly in the chip built into the skin.
According to Dangerous Things, Founder and CEO of Vivokey Technologies and Dangerous Things, Amal Graufstra, explained that APEX was specifically designed for cryptocurrency transactions. Closed keys and transaction signatures are generated inside the chip, while the mobile application serves as the interface without storing private keys on the smartphone.
The APEX device supports various cryptocurrency wallets such as SATOCHIP, the SEEDKEEPER app, and a status IM memory wallet. Satochip, as per Vivokey, is a BIP32/39 wallet applet that allows secure storage of cryptocurrency, transactions, and management of multiple currencies. The cost of APEX is $349.
As a biohacking enthusiast, Graufstra first received an RFID implant in 2005, inspired by the use of RFID chips for pets. He shared that the initial motivation behind the implant was simplicity and convenience – the ability to enter and leave the house without carrying keys or other items.
Regarding the APEX implantation procedure, he mentioned the insertion of a needle under the skin, removal, and placement of the chip in the context using sterile gloves. The developers believe that this technology will help users avoid wallet losses and prove useful in scenarios such as Airdrops or transaction verifications.
