Invisible Army FIN7: 4,000 Hosts, Billions Lost

According to law enforcement officials, the notorious hacking group known as FIN7 has been targeting companies and organizations in the United States from 2013 to 2018. The group, also known as Silent Push, has successfully attacked over 100 entities, compromising thousands of systems in the process.

Reports indicate that the hackers managed to steal more than 15 million payment cards in the USA alone, exploiting over 6,500 Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals. These stolen data were then sold on the darknet to third-party buyers. Companies affected by the cyberattacks include popular chains such as Chipotle Mexican Grill, Chili’s, Arby’s, Red Robin, and Jason’s Deli.

The FBI has been actively investigating the activities of FIN7/Silent Push, working to track down the perpetrators and prevent further attacks on American businesses. The scale and impact of the hacking spree have raised concerns among cybersecurity experts and industry professionals, urging companies to enhance their security measures to protect against such threats.
