The owners of social network accounts with over 1,000 daily followers may soon be required to transfer their data to Roskomnadzor, according to a report by TASS citing the press service of Roskomnadzor. The initiative is being discussed within the department.
Currently, the law mandates that information shared without the use of traditional media must include accurate details about its owner or distributor in a sufficient form for identification. While this rule applies to personal social media pages, it is often not followed. Therefore, there are talks about potentially updating the regulation to only encompass users with a daily audience exceeding 1,000 people.
