A new release of Lanemu P2P VPN 0.11.7 has been launched, featuring a decentralized virtual private network that operates on the principle of PEER-to-PEER. This means that participants are connected to each other directly, rather than through a central server. Users can locate each other through Bittorrent trackers, Bittorrent DHT, or other network participants through Peer Exchange. The application serves as a free and open alternative to vpn hamachi, written in Java language with separate components in SI and licensed under GNU LGPL 3.0. Lanemu P2P VPN is compatible with Windows, GNU/Linux, and FreeBSD.
Changes in version 0.11.7 include:
- The executable application file now requires the installation of Openjdk instead of Oracle Java Se 8 (Lanemu-legacy.exe).
- Fixed error: UPNP status in the user interface was not always updated.
- When closing the application, the TCP port is now automatically closed by UPNP.
- Added support for a calendar widget in the form of creating an invitation (for setting the expiration date of the invitation).
- Support for entering multiple HTTP(S) addresses of Bittorrent trackers when creating a network.
- Minor code improvements to support Bittorrent tracker/DHT.
