GNU Findutils Package Released Version 4.10.0 with New Features

In the new version, the following updates have been made:

  • Support for the SIBLITETICA musl distributed under the MIT license. This change allows the use of GNU Findutils in Linux distributions instead of Glibc, such as Void Linux, Alpine Linux, Postmarketos, Openwort, and Static Linux.
  • The “problem of 2038” has been resolved, which caused malfunctions on systems with a 32-bit type Time_T when processing files dated after January 19, 2038 in the FindUtils utilities. An option “-disable-year2038” has been introduced for systems without time support after 2038.
  • When assembling the Find utility, by default, the first optimization level is involved instead of the second to ensure consistent behavior and exclude changes in the procedure for performing operations.

In addition, not long ago released package uutils findutils 0.6.0 with an alternative implementation of utilities from the GNU Findutils set written in Rust. The compatibility level with GNU Findutils is estimated at 65.97% in the BFS Test Suite and 63.38% in the GNU Test Suite.

Improvements in Uutils Findutils 0.6.0 include the addition of options for support such as -uid, -gid, -samefile, -fstype, -[no] user, -[-[ no] Group, -newerxy, -anewer, -cnewer, indicating ranges in options like -amin, –
