Intel processors, such as Raptor Lake and Alder Lake generations, have been found vulnerable to a new high-precision attack called “Indirector” Branch Target Injection (BTI). This exploit can result in the theft of confidential information from the processor, as detailed in a report.
The researchers from the University of California at San Diego were the ones who uncovered this vulnerability. They are set to present the full details of the attack at the USENIX Security Symposium symposium in August 2024.
