AMD MERGER SECRETS EXPOSED

AMD has initiated an investigation into a potential cyber supply chain breach following reports that data stolen from the company has been put up for sale on the Breachforums hacker forum. The information that hackers claim to possess reportedly includes details on employees, financial documents, and confidential data.

A representative from AMD stated, “We are aware of a cybercrime organization that alleges it has breached AMD’s data. We are actively collaborating with law enforcement agencies and third-party partners to conduct a thorough investigation into this incident and assess the extent of the breach.”

The hacker known as Intelbroker released screenshots of what they claim to be AMD accounting data, but did not disclose the price for the data or the method of acquisition. It is possible that more information will be provided only to potential buyers.

According to Intelbroker, the compromised data was obtained this month and includes details about future AMD products, technical specifications, employee and customer databases, property files, various ROMs, source code, firmware, and financial information.

As reported by Darkwebinformer, the leaked data contains employee databases with information such as user identifiers, names, job titles, responsibilities, work phone numbers, email addresses, and employment statuses.

Intelbroker is known for disclosing information about hacks involving DC Health Link, General Electric, HP Enterprise, and the Five Eyes reconnaissance alliance. Meanwhile, AMD experienced a data breach in June 2022 when a group of cyber criminals named Ransomhouse claimed to have stolen 450 GB of information.
