In a recent update, President Vladimir Putin has extended the decree aimed at enhancing information security in Russia. As per the revised resolution, effective January 1, 2025, government entities, strategic organizations, and system-forming firms are now forbidden from utilizing information security services offered by adversarial nations.
Earlier, the decree had restricted the use of information protection systems from countries deemed unfriendly, along with their affiliated entities. The discontinuation of such systems was already earmarked for 2025. The updated decree now includes a prohibition on availing “services (work, services) to ensure information security provided (performed, provided) by these organizations.”
