The ALMALINUX project, which is working on a distribution based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux to replace the classic CentOS, recently made an announcement about the formation of the ALESCO (Almalinux Engineering Steering Committee). This committee, similar to Fedora Linux’s FESCO committee, will be responsible for making technical decisions related to the development of the project, including reviewing proposals for improvements from community representatives. The main goal of the committee is to coordinate the technical development of the distribution to ensure its reliability, stability, and relevance.
The ALESCO committee consists of six engineers actively involved in the development and usage of Almalinux:
- Andrey Lukoshko – Almalinux Architect
- Ben Thomas – Infrastructure Developer from University College of London
- Cody Robertson – Technical Director at Hawk Host
- Elkhan Mammadli – Cloud Technology Engineer at Cloudlinux
- Jonathan Wright – Almalinux Evangelist at Cloudlinux
- Neal Gompa – Chief Consultant at Velocity Limitless
