The Pink Drainer hacker group announced the completion of its activity, revealing their successful theft of $85 million in cryptocurrency. The group, whose actions can be tracked on SCAMSNIFFER, stated their intention to dismantle the infrastructure used for their attacks.
Members of PINK DRAINER employed social engineering tactics and phishing links to distribute cryptocurrency theft tools to other criminals. In return, they received payments and a share of the stolen funds as commissions.
Expressing gratitude towards their supporters, the group declared their mission accomplished and announced their plan to disband. In a statement shared on Telegram, they reassured that all stored information would be deleted and securely destroyed.
Despite their exit, cybercriminals fear that the safety of digital assets market will not improve, as users may continue to fall prey to fraudulent schemes and invest in scams.
Reports from the SCAMSNIFFER portal indicate that over twenty thousand individuals have been victimized by the attackers.
