The latest issue of vcmi 1.3, an open game engine compatible with the data format used in Heroes of Might and Magic III, has been released. This project aims to support mods that allow for the addition of new cities, heroes, monsters, artifacts, and spells to the game. The initial texts are distributed under the GPLV2 license and work is supported on Linux, Windows, MacOS, and Android. Available for download on the official website.
The new version brings significant improvements in multiplayer game support, including online play and a new interface for setting up multiplayer game sessions. Players can now generate more realistically looking random maps and experience an increased performance AI-engine. Initial support for game controllers has been added, along with the ability to set up custom keyboard combinations for a more personalized gaming experience.
