Proton-Ge 9-5 Issue Delays Windows-IGR Launch

The latest release of the project ge-proton 9-5 has been announced by Valve, aimed at enthusiasts who utilize the package for running Windows applications through Proton. This version features an updated Wine, uses FFMPEG in Faudio, and includes additional patches to address issues in various gaming applications.

The Proton GE 9-5 incorporates changes from the latest code bases of Wine 9, Proton 9, SteamClient, VKD3D-PROTON, DXVK-NVAPI, and DXVK. Notable improvements include enhanced video playback in Windows Media Player 9 and patches for supporting tcp_keep. Moreover, specific problems in games such as Café Stella, COJ Gunslinger, and Ducati World Championship have been resolved.

Other gaming applications that have seen issues addressed in this release include Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee, and Overlord II. Additionally, gamers can expect improvements for Reaper’s Butterflies, Riddle Joker, and Sabbat of the Witch, among others. The update also focuses on enhancing the gaming experience for titles like Star Citizen 2.0, Stranger’s Wrath HD, Total War: Shogun 2, and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition.
