Google has announced the release of the second beta version of the open mobile platform Android 15. The official release of Android 15 is expected in the third quarter of 2024. To showcase the new features of the platform, Google has introduced a program for early testing. Firmware builds have been prepared for various devices including Pixel 6/6a Pro, Pixel 7/7a/7 Pro, Pixel 8/8 Pro, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, as well as for select smartphones and tablets from several manufacturers such as Honor, IQOO, Lenovo, Nothing, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Sharp, Tecno, Vivo, and Xiaomi.
The second beta version of Android 15 brings significant changes compared to the initial beta release:
- Enhanced multitasking capabilities on devices with larger screens, including the support for adding a taskbar for quick app switching and pinning shortcuts of frequently used programs.
