XWayland 24.1.0 Release for Wayland-X11 Apps

The latest release of the XWAYLAND 24.1.0 DDX component (Device-Dependent X) is now available. This component ensures the launch of X.org Server to organize the execution of X11-Applications in an environment based on Wayland. The release includes several key changes and improvements.

The main changes in the release include:

  • Added support for the technology glamor, which uses OpenGL to accelerate 2D operations. Support for OpenGL ES 3 shaders has been added, incomplete textures for OpenGL ES are ensured, and the command line “Glamor” has been included. UYVY acceleration has also been added.
  • Code supporting the 2D-slip architecture exa has been removed.
  • Improvements have been made to the “Rootful” mode, where all XWayland windows are displayed inside a separate window in Wayland-control. This allows the use of the X11 window manager to control X11 launched applications.
  • Support for eglstream has been added, allowing effective transmission of a personnel sequence from one API to another (OpenGL, CUDA, NVMEDIA). This ensures compatibility with old proprietary NVIDIA Drivers.
  • XVFB now supports using up to 13 buttons on mice.
  • An entry on the side of Wayland-Crowning has been implemented using information about the entry area x11.
  • Improved support for the FreeBSD platform with the inclusion of the Frambufer SCFB driver and the processing of the option “-NOVTSWITCH”.
  • Resolved assembly problems in OpenBSD and FreeBSD.
  • Code related to the DDX servers Xquartz, XNEST, XWIN, Xorg, Xephyr/Kdrive has been removed.
