European Police Chiefs Are Urging Governments to Take Action Against Encryption
The Police Department of Europe has expressed concerns about the use of encryption technology, stating that it can severely limit the ability of law enforcement officers to investigate crimes. Europol representatives believe that encryption can prevent technological companies and law enforcement agencies from accessing and using data related to violations on social networks.
One such technology, End-to-End Encryption (E2EE), has come under scrutiny for its potential impact on investigations. For example, applications like Messenger from META and its products have been labeled as extremist, leading to their ban in Russia.
