French online retailer, Le Slip Français, known for selling men’s and women’s underwear, swimwear, and accessories, recently disclosed a data breach due to cyber attacks, leading to the theft of some customer information. The company emphasizes that all its products are manufactured locally in France.
The cyber attack took place on April 15, as stated on the company’s website. Le Slip Français confirmed that customer data was compromised, but assured that account passwords and payment card details remained secure.
In response to the breach, the company has contained the threat and is actively monitoring the situation for any signs of fraudulent activity. Necessary steps are being taken to notify affected users, and the incident has been reported to the National Data Protection Commission (CNIL) and appropriate authorities.
Security expert Troy Khant, who oversees the website Have I Been Pwned, discovered that the stolen data had surfaced on a well-known hacker forum a week ago. The information was posted by a user nicknamed “Shopifyguy”, previously linked to a data breach at Canadian company Giant Tiger.
