THERMONATOR SALES BEGIN IN UNITED STATES

In the USA Sales of robot-bars with flamethrower for less than $10,000 began. The device called Thermonator, which the Throwflame production company calls the “first flamethrower robot-bacon”, is now available for ordering at a price of $9,420.

Thermonator is equipped with four paws and ARC flamethrower working on gasoline or napalm on the back. This robot can throw a flame at a distance of 30 feet (approximately 9 meters) and is controlled remotely through Wi-Fi or Bluetooth using a smartphone. In addition, the robot has a battery for an hour of work.

Thermonator is equipped with a Lidar sensor for mapping the territory and bypassing obstacles, a laser sight and camera for navigation with a first-person view (FPV). It is assumed that the device is built on the basis of the four-legged robot Unitree GO2, which in the basic configuration costs $1,600.

The company indicates the possible areas of the use of Thermonator, including control and prevention of forest fires, agricultural control, environmental protection, removal of snow and ice, as well as entertainment and special effects. Despite this, the main purpose of the robot is to set fire to various objects in real conditions.

Recall that in 2018, Ilon Musk attracted attention, offering a flamethrower from his company The Boring Company, which was sold by a circulation of 10,000 units in 48 hours. Then this caused disputes due to the potential use of flamethrowers as a weapon or source of forest fires.

In the USA, flamethrowers are not regulated by law in 48 states and are not considered federal agencies with firearms. The restrictions apply in Maryland and California, where a license to own flamethrowers is required, and their range of action should not exceed 10 feet (3 meters).

It is worth noting that flamethrowers can easily cause fires and cause destruction if they are used inadvertently. Therefore, Thermonator is probably not the best New Year’s gift.
