The Disk Operating System (DOS) is an operating system that was widely used in personal computers during the 1980s and early 1990s. DOS was specifically designed to manage operations with hard drives and other data storage devices, such as floppy disks. Users interact with DOS through a command line interface, where they can enter commands in a clear computer language. These commands allow users to run applications, navigate the file system, create and delete files, format discs, and perform various other functions.
