Utility Issue for Synchronization of RSYNC 3.3.0 Files

After a year and a half of development published release rsync 3.3.0. These are utilities for synchronization of files and backup copying, designed to minimize traffic by copying only changes. Users have the option to use SSH, RSH, or RSYNC protocol for transport. The release also supports the organization of anonymous RSYNC servers, which are ideal for ensuring mirror synchronization. The project code spreads under the gplv3 license.

The version number change to 3.3.0 does not signify major functional changes in the current release but is a response to significant changes in the previous version 3.2.7. Version 3.3.0 focuses on bug fixes. Additionally, the GITHUB project repository has been moved from the account of the creator, Wayned, to a separate organization called Rsyncproject.

Some of the changes introduced in version 3.3.0 include:

  • In the utility rrsync (Restricted rsync), there is now an option “-noVerWrite” which prohibits the overwriting of existing files in the target directory.
  • The Mapfrom and Mapto auxiliary scripts, originally written in Perl, have been rewritten in Python and merged into the general IDMAP script.
  • The MNT-EXCL Perl script has been rewritten in Python.
