A new hacker tool known as Geobox has recently emerged in the Darknet, being sold for $700 through Telegram and underground forums. This tool is designed to target Raspberry Pi devices, allowing cybercriminals to manipulate the device’s location and avoid detection.
Geobox has the capability to transform the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B into a potent instrument for cyber malpractice. It enables hackers to manipulate GPS coordinates, simulate network connections and Wi-Fi signals, as well as bypass anti-fraud filters.
According to a recent report by the American cybersecurity company Resecurity, cybercriminals are increasingly focusing on a wide range of IoT devices for fraudulent and anonymization purposes. This includes devices used by consumers such as vehicles, smart home appliances, smart clothing, medical devices, and devices with remote monitoring capabilities.
