Bazalt SPO company recently announced the release of distributions Alt Server 10.2 and Alt Workstation 10.2 built on the 10 platform ALT (branch P10 Aronia). The “Alt Workstation” assembly is available for architectures x86_64, Aarch64, i586, and Elbrus, while the “Alt Server” assemblies can be found for architectures x86_64 and AARCH64. These distributions are distributed with a license agreement that allows free use by individuals, with legal entities requiring a commercial license for use.
The main changes in Alt Server 10.2:
- Updated versions of programs such as Linux 6.1.79 core (optionally 5.10.203), Samba 4.19, PHP 8.2, GPupdate 0.9.13.7, ADMC 0.15.2, and GPUI 0.2.40.
- The installer now supports RAID massives based on intel vroc (Virtual raid on CPU) and El Matrix Storage Manager.
- New features added include recovery processes after failures, MDMON Metadata Monitoring for RAID C IMSM, USBUTILS package, and additional packages like Gostcrypto, Color-Prompt-And-Man, Local-Policy, Chrony, and BTRFS-PROGS.
- Changes in default services include turning off Suspend, Hibernate, NSLCD, and NSCD services, and the default launch control now uses the Installer-Distro-Centaurus package to Mkimage-Profiles.
- There are now 4 installation profiles available: Office server, Samba DC server (AD controller), home server, and minimum installation, with different graphical and console interface options.
