Google Loses Control of Wi-Fi at Campus

Google, known for its innovations in the field of Internet technologies, faced an unexpected problem in one of its campuses located in Mountain-Vew, California.

At the opening of the Bay View campus in 2022, the company stated that this is an environmentally friendly and technologically advanced space for collaboration. However, despite all the innovations, it was recently revealed that employees of the company working in this campus have long been suffering from the extremely unstable and slow work of Wi-Fi in the territory. As a temporary decision, the leadership proposes to hold working meetings on the street or in nearby cafes with better Wi-Fi. And some employees even issued new laptops with powerful Wi-Fi chips to improve the connection.

Bay View campus, the roof of which resembles sea waves, is equipped with modern environmental technologies, including solar panels, geothermal energy production systems and rain water collection. On the construction of the campus, the company even published a book of 229 pages, clearly not mentioning it in it about obvious problems in Wi-Fi.

After the employees raised the hype around the problem, Google representatives confirmed the difficulties with Wi-Fi and said that the decision was expected in the coming weeks.

The company never disclosed the cost of building a Bay View campus, but it is known that about $10 billion was spent in total for the construction of offices and data centers of Google in 2022.
