Formed the release of a specialized distribution Tails 6.0 (The Amnesic Incognito Live System), based on the Debian package base and intended for anonymous exit to the network. An anonymous exit to Tails is provided by the Tor system. All connections, except traffic via the Tor network, are blocked by the default packet filter. For storage of user data in the mode of conservation of user data between the launches, encryption is used. To download the prepared ISO-image, capable of working in Live mode, 1 GB.
In the new version:
- A transition to the DEBIAN 12 BookWorm package base was made.
- The user environment is updated to GNOME 43 (Issue 3.38 was previously used).
- Provided the withdrawal warnings In case of errors when reading or writing on a USB drive used for a permanent storage. It is assumed that warnings about individual failures will allow you to notice problems with the drive at the early stage and have time to back up the reserve of permanent storage.
- Implementing automatic mounting of external storage devices. If the storage contains an encrypted section, for example, created using veracrypt, a password request will be displayed for the user Unlocking section.
- Added protection against an attack is not a system through connecting malicious USB devices during the absence of a user: when the screen is in the lock mode, Tails now ignores the connection of any USB devices. Activation of USB devices is carried out only when they are connected with an unlocked screen.
