The KDE project recently unveiled the fifth generation of laptops from the KDE Slimbook brand. Developed in collaboration with the KDE community and the Spanish supplier of SlimBook equipment, the KDE Slimbook 16 features software based on the KDE Plasma 6 desktop, the KDE Neon system built on Ubuntu, and a range of free applications like Krita, Blender, Freecad, and Kdenlive. It also comes with the Wayland protocol for the default graphic environment. KDE developers extensively test all applications and updates to ensure stability and compatibility with the hardware.
The new KDE Slimbook 16 stands out with its 16-inch screen (2560×1600, 6:10 SRGB 100%, 165HZ), AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS processor (8 cores, 16 threads, 3.8-5.1GHZ), and AMD Radeon 780M GPU (12 RDNA 3 cores, 2700 MHz). It boasts 2 USB-C 3.2 ports, three USB-A 3.2 ports, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and a physically disconnected HD 720p 1.0m webcam.
