US 5th Fleet Hacked, Secrets Exposed in Storm

On February 11, a hacker group from Bahrain, known as “Storm,” successfully carried out cyber attacks on the on-board systems of ships belonging to the United States’ 5th fleet, as reported by TASS citing the Fars agency[^1^].

The hackers claimed to have gained access to classified documents of the US military, including photographs and detailed plans of the US military base in Bahrain. They have also released a portion of the stolen documents and issued a warning that they possess more significant information that will be exposed to those who support the “resistance axis” in their fight against the United States[^2^].

The “resistance axis” comprises several Muslim paramilitary groups, primarily of Shiite orientation, which include Hezbollah, Hamas, Allah Ansar, and the Islamic Resistance in Iraq[^3^].
