Regolith Desktop 3.1, developed by the developers of the same-name Linux distribution, has been presented. Regolith is based on the technology for managing the GNOME sessions, the window manager i3, composite servers Picom and sway, panels i3bar, the notification system rofication, the status line i3status-rs, and the program launch interface ilia. In the new release:
- The Wayland session is now compatible with Debian Testing. Wayland support is available for Ubuntu 22.04+, Debian Testing, and Debian 12. For Ubuntu 20.04 and Debian 11, only an X11-based session is available.
- Added support for Ubuntu 23.10.
- Interface switching between virtual desktoping tables i3-Next-winkspace is now compatible with the composite server SWAY.
- The Regolith-Control-Center configurator has been transferred to the codebase from GNOME 45.
- Introduced the Sway chestnut server.
