In preparation for the first public release under the free license mpl-2.0, Oxide Computer has made the initial texts of assembly tools and specific components of the Helios distribution open. These tools and components are used to ensure the operation of programmed cloud server racks called Oxide Rack. The entire OXIDE program glass is open. The Helios distribution is based on the projects of the project Illumos, which continues the development of the nucleus, network stack, file systems, drivers, libraries, and the basic set of system utilities Openslaris.
Among the components included in the distribution are:
