Noabot Upgrades Mirai for Stealthy Linux Resource Theft

AKAMAI IB companies in its new report states that over the past year, previously unknown self-healing malicious software has been compromising Linux devices worldwide. These malware programs install cryptocurrency mining software on the compromised devices, hiding their activities in unconventional ways.

The malware responsible for these attacks is a modified version of the Botnet Mirai. Initially discovered in August 2016, Mirai has been utilized in various highly potent and disruptive Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.
