Bitdefender has recently revealed a vulnerability in the Bosch BCC100 Wi-Fi thermostat, a widely popular model used in many households. This vulnerability exposes the device to remote manipulation, enabling attackers to tamper with its settings, such as temperature control, and even install malware.
This finding comes at a time when the number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices is rapidly increasing. More and more devices, ranging from vehicles to smart home systems, smart clothes, medical devices, and devices with remote monitoring capabilities, are being created for consumer use.
