The company Guard from ABOVE has introduced the unmanned aerial vehicle Evolution Eagle, a drone specifically designed for hidden military intelligence. Resembling a real eagle in size, shape, and color, the Evolution Eagle is equipped with two propellers on its wings, as well as flaps along the edges of the wings and tail.
This is not the first bird-inspired drone, as Festo introduced the Seagull Smartbird in 2011, and Clear Flight Solutions presented the sapsana and eagle Robird in 2014, both capable of flapping their wings. However, the Evolution Eagle simplifies its design and increases autonomy by eliminating the ability to wave its wings.
Despite this omission, the Evolution Eagle can glide on rising air flows, similar to a real eagle. This feature not only saves battery charge, but also allows the operator to temporarily disable the engines to eliminate noise when flying over strategically important objects.
The operator is able to control the Evolution Eagle remotely in real time using the onboard camera. The drone also features a special compartment for additional sensors and equipment.
For transportation and storage, the Evolution Eagle can be disassembled and packaged in a special cover. It can be assembled in just three minutes, making it convenient and efficient.
