In December 2023, the Antifrod Roskomnadzor system, designed to block fraudulent calls, prevented more than 120 million challenges, which is twice as much as in the previous month, the media reported in the press service of the department.
The system created to combat the substitution of numbers last month blocked a record number of calls, 111% more than in November. Since the launch of the system in December 2022, this is the greatest indicator.
In December, 12.2 billion calls were checked, which is 1.7 billion more than in November. The percentage of fraudulent calls from the total amount was 1%, while in November this figure was 0.55%.
According to the Roskomnadzor (RKN), the number of communication operators connected to Antifraud increased to 549 in December from 267 in November. The coverage of the operators working with the system amounted to almost 80%.
The department noted that there are still operators who are not connected to the system through which fraudulent calls pass. Often small operators miss such calls.
At the moment, almost 1.3 thousand communication operators operate in the country. By law, all communication operators must connect to the system until February 28, 2024.
