The Free Cross-Platform Interpreter of Classic Quests, Scummvm 2.8.0, is Now Available
The latest version of Scummvm, 2.8.0, has been released. Scummvm is a free cross-platform interpreter that replaces executable games and allows users to run many classic games on platforms for which they were not initially intended. The project code is distributed under the GPLv3+ license.
This release enables users to launch over 320 quests, including popular games from Lucasarts, Humongous Entertainment, Revolution Software, Cyan, and Sierra. Some of these games include Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, Myst, Blade Runner, KINGS Uest 1-7, Space Quest 1-6, Discworld, Simon the Sorcerer, Beneath a Steel Sky, Lure of the Temptress, and The Legend of Kyrandia. Scummvm 2.8.0 supports the launch of games on various platforms such as Linux, Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android, PS Vita, Switch, Dreamcast, Amigaos, Atari/Freemint, Risc OS, Haiku, PSP, PS3, MAEMO, GCW Zero, and more.
