After three and a half years of development, Netsurf 3.11, the minimalistic multifaceted web browser, has been officially released. This latest version brings significant improvements and is capable of working on systems with several dozen megabytes of RAM. Netsurf 3.11 is available for Linux, Windows, Haiku, AmigaOS, RISC OS, and various UNIX-like systems. The browser’s code is written in SI and distributed under the GPL v2 license.

The browser engine is based on its own libraries: Hubbubum, Libcss, and Libdom. For JavaScript processing, Netsurf utilizes the Duktape engine, although JavaScript support is limited and disabled by default.
The latest version of Netsurf has made several noteworthy enhancements. It includes improved CSS support and correct drawing of pages using the CSS flex property. The layout of tables and lists has been optimized, and support for dark design themes has been added. Performance optimizations have also been implemented. Furthermore, RISC OS platform support has been improved, and Netsurf now supports the JPEGXL image format and an RSVG image decoder. By default, TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 are disabled, with TLS 1.3 configured for use. Netsurf 3.11 also introduces support for OpenSSL 3 and HTTP auto-replacement on HTTPS. The interface has been enhanced based on the GTK library.
