The Monegasques, hung on the outburst to the Louis-II stadium (1-1), dominated the meeting but lacked realism and they were punished (3-2) by effective Dutch and galvanized by their boiling Public.

The years follow one another and look alike for Monaco: as last year, the ASM was eliminated from the Champions League in extension during summer qualifications after its 3-2 defeat on the lawn of the PSV Eindhoven Tuesday 9 august. And on one of the rare Dutch situations, De Jong exploded the Philips Stadion by scoring the goal of qualifying the head (3-2, 109th).
