Rain curtains and winds at 100 km/h: Paris feet in water during storm

The end of the day on Tuesday August 16 was turned upside down for the Ile -de -France residents. An important stormy and rainy episode fell on the capital around 6 pm: gusts of wind and rain curtains have violently touched Paris and its surroundings. According to Météo-France, the equivalent of 70 % monthly rain fell in the space of barely an hour and a half.

The weather station of the Eiffel Tower, for its part, recorded gusts of wind reaching 104 km/h during the evening. This storm episode follows a succession of heat waves that affected the national territory throughout the summer. A fourth is expected at the end of August.
