The British Prime Minister has been particularly discreet since his ouster at the head of the Conservative Party, in July.

Little accustomed so far to provocations, metro, free daily newspaper distributed in the United Kingdom, could not help but biting irony, Friday August 12: “The Prime Minister present at a meeting”, he titled in “one”. Boris Johnson, who remains at the head of the British government pending the election of his successor, on September 5, was particularly discreet since his own party put him at the door. But Thursday, he was present during a meeting with the bosses of electricity producers, organized in reaction to the outbreak of energy bills in the United Kingdom. Let us be reassured, said Metro, however: “Reunion did not lead to immediate concrete actions. (…) In other words, [Boris Johnson] has done absolutely nothing.”
Since his eviction of the leadership of the Conservative Party, in July, the disheveled blonde silhouette of Mr. Johnson has almost disappeared from radar screens. No notable announcement or significant decision has been made. The interested party claims it, moreover, he is responsible for sending current affairs and it is not his, in a transitional role, for taking large strategic orientations. “Major budgetary decisions must be left to the next Prime Minister,” said a state of Downing Street on August 7.
The British leader, who has nothing more to win, would he have taken on an early vacation? A government spokesperson, a bit annoyed, replies in a pinched tone: “Have you not read the counter-return of the day [Thursday]?” Let it be said, Boris Johnson, besides his Meeting with electricity producers, was active that day: he phoned Sheikh Mohammed Ben Zayed Al Nahyane, President of the United Arab Emirates, and appointed a certain Pippa Lambert Interim President of the Organization of Salaries High civil servants.
m. Johnson is also occupied by important personal questions. On July 30, he celebrated his marriage to Carrie Johnson, born Symonds, 33, with whom he had lived for three years and of whom he has two children. The couple officially married in the spring of 2021 but had not found time to organize a party.
The outgoing Prime Minister, 58, initially planned to receive his guests in Chequers, an official campaign residence. But his project having aroused teeth grin, on this new mixture between personal and professional life, Mr. Johnson recovered, instead, to the generosity of Lord Anthony Bamford, a donor of the Conservative Party, who put its land in the charming Cotswolds, a region west of Oxford, available. A very commented video on social networks shows the young bride dancing awkwardly to the sound of Sweet Caroline de Neil Diamond.
