Video of the images collected and authenticated by “Le Monde” make it possible to trace the demonstration of June 30, in Khartoum. A day in which at least eight young men died, mostly touched by shot.
What happened on June 30, when opposition to the Sudanese military regime called for a historical demonstration? The junta undertook to leave the people “exercise their right of peaceful meeting”. From 8 am, however, the government had the Internet connection cut.
Le Monde harvested and authenticated the images available after restoration of the Internet. In total, they make it possible to document the death of at least eight demonstrators during the day, most of them by bullets. Through the country, many other activists have been injured by bullets, or arrested and detained by hundreds.
On the same day, the images show law enforcement agents equipped with AK-47 automatic assault rifles. Among the engaged units were in particular agents of the Central Police Reserve (CRP). Various observers, including non -governmental organizations, criticize these agents “serious human rights”. These accusations prompted the United States to place the CRP in March on its list of organizations subject to financial sanctions. At the end of June, alongside the Khartoum police, the rolling police, as well as the army, she took part in the violent repression of the demonstrators, essentially peaceful.
