It was his haven of peace, in a Paris that has long oppressed it. A place perhaps which reminds her of Quebec, and where she can indulge in her observations of trees, birds and foxes, as she does in the forest. The Apple singer, alias Claire Pommet with her civil name, meets a stone’s throw from the Père-Lachaise cemetery. “I often come to recharge my batteries: it’s a place that calms me, with rare greenery and biodiversity here,” says the 26 -year -old artist. Apple likes refuges, and it is thus that she wanted to think each of the songs of her third album, consolation, released on August 26 and greeted by critics.
It takes many refuges, in the storm carried by a part of its generation, determined to energize everything in its path. Through the poetry of his titles and in his speeches, Apple embodies a youth who wants to move the lines of the genre, of sexuality, of love and which calls for an ecological and social jack. “I am part of a generation that decided to stop doing things out of habit or because it was taught that life was traced like this,” she sums up. And to allow yourself to look for its place outside the socially pre -established boxes, even if the quest is sometimes scary.
a great sensitivity
Small, Claire Pommet later imagined with “a husband, a dog, kids and a minivan”. As a young girl, it seems “the only solution” that is offered to her, “the base”. Basically, however, she still feels that she is coming out of the framework, within her family in small bourgeois and Catholic education, in the Lyon suburbs. An “inadequate” child in all circumstances, of which we look at great sensitivity with circumspection and concern. In his new album, childhood is a central material. Always ambivalent, between “sweetness” and “violence”, but of which she seeks here to draw the comforting dimension.
Apple signs, in fact, a more peaceful disc, after an exposure to vive of his anxieties in the faults, which earned him two victories of music. “I feel better in my skin, more in my place, thanks to my entourage, with whom I have walked, but also to the success of my last album. I am always anxious but more in peace with myself,” explains The singer, who has always wanted to deliver an uninhibited speech on mental health and on the anxiety that inhabits her, now become a “familiar” companion.
