The Minister of Health has announced that these consultations would be proposed in order to strengthen the prevention component of the French health system.
Free medical consultations will be offered to the French at “three ages of life, 25 years, 45 years and 65,” announced, Sunday, September 18, the Minister of Health, François Braun, in an interview with the Journal du Dimanche (JDD). The purpose of these future consultations will be to strengthen the prevention of the French health system.
“We are entering the prevention era” with this measure which will be integrated into the next Social Security financing bill, explains the Minister. “We are going to take better care of children, who benefit from twenty exams up to 16 years old, but also follow these generations during their lives,” he says.
For adults aged 25, it will be a question of “taking stock of vaccines, their physical activity, possible addictions or difficulties linked to the beginning of professional life”. They will also be alerted to “the need to have a doctor and cardiovascular risk”.
At 45 years old, the consultation will focus on “the need to participate in the screening for breast, colon or prostate cancer” and will allow “a report on physical activity and possible disorders of the Mental Health “. Finally, at 65 will be mentioned “the prevention of loss of autonomy, screening for cancers and all the diseases that can be warned”.
“This five -year term will be that of a vast reform of our health and prevention policy”, had promised François Braun at the beginning of September during a trip to Marseille.
