The funding by the penitentiary establishment of this “purely charitable operation for the benefit of associations whose action is deserving” was limited to these prices, we read in the signed report of the Secretary General of the Ministry and of the deputy director of the prison administration. “The cost of the event was fully supported by the Unitess association,” he said. A way to respond to criticisms that appeared on social networks on a misuse of taxpayers.
As for the mode of selection of prisoners who participated in the operation, “it corresponds to the very classic operating mode with regard to a socio -cultural or sporting activity organized in detention”. In other words, the behavior in detention and investment in training or work are taken into account in the evaluation before being able to benefit from such a carrot, including for people imprisoned for a crime.
“Appreciation error”
For his part, the school head, Jimmy Delist, heard for this administrative investigation, admitted “having made an error of appreciation” and having been exceeded by the media consequences of the event.
