The designer jang seong-rak is dead, announced announced Monday, July 25, Rédice , the studio of “Webtoons” for which he worked. Korean comics lovers knew him mainly for his adaptation of the series of Solo Leveling novels. The artist, also known by the pseudonym of Dubu, died two days ago, according to the studio press release.
Under the pen of this Discreet Digital Manhwa designer, the Dark Fantasy series featuring monster hunters has acquired international popularity. Available in France in paper and digital format at Delcourt (and its VeryToon app), it will be adapted in anime by the Japanese studio Aniplex and broadcast in 2023 on Crunchyroll. A video game is also expected.
