The ex-star animator of the MATinale of RMC has been the subject of an internal investigation after suspicions of attempted sexual assault.
“I clearly asked myself the question of my participation in this program this evening, due to the opening of an investigation by justice following a complaint filed against Mr. Bourdin for attempted attack sexual “. On January 18, when the BFM-TV program devoted to the presidential election, Valérie Pécresse had revealed her embarrassment: how to meet a journalist referred to in an investigation of sexual assault when we are revealed when we are serenely claims to defend yourself the cause of women? This live humiliation will remain as the symbolic end of the career of Jean-Jacques Bourdin: the Altice group announced, Friday, June 17, “put an end to the employment contract of Mr. Jean-Jacques Bourdin and thus cease any collaboration”. A lapidary sentence which concludes twenty -one years of presence at the microphone of RMC first – since 2001 -, then RMC and BFM -TV then – since 2007.
It was during a business trip to Calvi, in 2013, that the star presenter would have tried to kiss the complainant Fanny Agostini, who then worked for the channel. A few days later, on February 17, 2022, another woman, which remained anonymous to date, had in turn filed a complaint for sexual assault, harassment and sexual exhibition, facts that she dates from 1988. Two times, John John -Jacques Bourdin had challenged the reality of these accusations and the complaints had been classified, not because the facts were not proven (no investigation was carried out), but because they were prescribed. For its part, however, the management of Nextradiotv had launched an internal investigation, in order to collect possible testimonies against the journalist.
According to an internal source, it would not have emerged the need to initiate prosecution against Jean-Jacques Bourdin. On the other hand, “behaviors as described in press articles” would have convinced the Altice group to definitively do without the services of its star presenter. Testimonies collected by Le Monde describe, for example, the (old) use of its professional Twitter account, partly managed by employees, for seduction purposes which no one should have been aware. Everyone knew, moreover, that their name was quoted in the Carlton file, this case of pimping involving in particular Dominique Strauss-Kahn. Many of his colleagues testified, however, of a “nice” work climate with the morning. While he had left RTL for a few months, where he had presented the listeners in particular, Jean-Jacques Bourdin had been the centerpiece of the revival of RMC by Alain Weill, after his acquisition, in 2001.
