The Russian opponent imprisoned Alexei Navalny was transferred to a new penitentiary colony “with severe regime”, his relatives announced Tuesday, June 14, who say they do not know where he is and worried about his life. “They said to Pokrov (his former penitentiary colony) that Navalny is no longer detained here, that he was transferred to a severe regime colony,” Tass Olga Mikhaïlova was told to the news agency Tass Olga, one 46 -year -old opponents’ lawyers. “It is linked to the fact that the verdict in its new case has entered into force,” she added.
The lawyer and anti -corruption activist, the main Russian opponent, is already serving a “fraud” sentence in a case dating back to 2014 and involving the French company Yves Rocher. It was previously imprisoned in the colony of Pokrov, 100 km from Moscow, already considered one of the hardest in Russia. 2> “Locate it as quickly as possible”
“The problem (…) is not only that a high security colony is much more frightening. As long as we don’t know where Alexei is, he remains in-head with a system that has already tried to kill it, so our main task is to locate it as quickly as possible, “said Kira Iarych on the Telegram messaging. She denounced the fact that neither the opponent nor her lawyers or his family were warned in advance of this transfer. The United States called Moscow to allow him to have access to lawyers and the medical care he needs.
The Russian authorities “will be held responsible by the international community if anything happens to Mr. Navalny,” said the spokesman for American diplomacy Ned Price. “We reiterate our call for his immediate release and at the end of the persecution against his many supporters,” he said before the press in Washington.
Alexei Navalny had been arrested in January 2021 on his return from Berlin, where he had spent several months convalescence after poisoning, of which he holds Russian president Vladimir Putin for responsible.
