At least three people died and several others were injured in the regional train accident that derailed in the Bavarian Alps in southern Germany, local police announced on Friday, June 3.
Several train wagons link between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Munich came out of the rails at the burgrain level, causing the death of three people and injuring an “undetermined number of other passengers”, said the police in a statement Bavarian. The “rescue and evacuation operations continue at a sustained pace” on the spot, added the police. Rescue has also been sent from neighboring Austria.
Published photos by the German media show the regional train wagons lying in a wooded area, in a mountainous region. Victims were taken care of on site by doctors. The cause of the accident and the exact number of injured are not known at this stage.
